Morning Snooze

I was getting ready for work the other morning and discovered Clovis snoozing as I passed by his room. I thought it a little out of character for him to be sleeping at this hour. I was puzzled. Why is he doing this?

His location was the giveaway.  Sleeping on a rug I had thrown over the heating vent on the floor of his room this summer.  Chilly morning, furnace on, warm rug. Ahhh...

I covered his vent because he has caught a toenail on it a few times and lost the nail, poor guy! Cold weather is upon us; time for a different plan.

  1. Perhaps a bit of screen mesh over the vent instead? Harder to catch a toe, and you could cut a hole in the piece of carpet to go over the mesh-covered vent to hold the mesh down and still provide Clovie with a warm snuggy spot.

  3. He is just too cute. Look at that fat tummy.

We haven't had any rabbit-vent incidents, but one of the cats (Pester) got a claw hung in one about a year ago. It was in a rather obscure place for the cat to have been puttering around there, so we just moved some furniture around. She didn't lose the claw, but her paw was sore for a while.

  9. I popped over from Heart of a Cowgirl for a quick peek because your profile picture intrigued me. Beautiful artwork! You're very talented.

Clovis looks like a sweet, sweet boy. And, clever too, to have found himself a cozy spot to nap in.
