It is a good day when you have sunshine in the Northwest. Summer took forever to get here. I took this picture of Mt. Rainier today. This great view of the mountain happens to be from atop the Pierce County Landfill. What a waste of good real estate. (Is there a pun in there?) You're probably wondering why anyone would choose to go to the dump on such a beautiful sunny day...
Clovis and I spent some time together enjoying the cool morning air from the open windows in his room. We had a pile of greens, carrot sticks, strawberries, coffee, and the Sunday paper. Hard for me to believe he is turning six.

ReplyDeleteWaaay back when I was volunteering with Sakura Con and we were trying to entice Japanese guests .. One of the reps looked wide-eyed at the pictures we had and asked how we'd gotten Mt. Fuji in the background. Our rep said it was Mt. Rainer. He said it must be a lucky mountain to have a twin. :)
Every time I drive home from visiting family or friends, I see Mt. Baker in all its glory. (Well, okay, on the 1 day in 10 its not raining ;) ) I have to say, Washington State does grow some pretty mountains. :)

I am always amused when people find out that most of the places we stand to see Mt. Rainier are only about 25 feet above sea level!
