Treasures

We had family visiting us last weekend. My mother and a couple of my sisters and I took a drive over the Narrows bridge to Gig Harbor, a quaint little harbor town with some fun shops.  My eye is trained to scope out bunny stuff and I try to be very selective when I buy.  I found a few treasures I could not resist. This tray had my name all over it and it looks great in my kitchen.

I found this little creamer too. I thought it was sweet.

I had a fun and memorable weekend with the people I treasure.
Clovis remains, of course, my most favorite bunny treasure.

Bunny Mums

Clovis:  It's Mother's Day?

Me:  Yes, Clovis

Clovis:  Are you my Mother?

Me:  Yes, Clovis, I am your Mother.  Who else but your Mother would love every part of you?

Happy Mother's Day to all you Bunny Mums! All you Human ones too...

Three Shades of Clovis

Shade One

Shade Two

Shade Three

Three Shades of Clovis in Graphite 4.75" x 6.75"
My entry in the Parklane Gallery 20th Annual International Juried Miniature Show May 8th through June 3rd.

Each shade of Clovis is about 1 to 1-1/2 inches high in graphite. If you view the online show, Three Shades of Clovis is #221A, about halfway down the page.  I also entered Spotted Rex, #221B, a colored pencil I have shown before.  There is some wonderful artwork in the show - worth taking a look!

Windows

The flowering cherry outside my kitchen window.
I am looking out my windows, checking to see what is in bloom, how things are growing, what is our weather. I can see the head of my neighbor's black lab sticking through a hole in their wood fence.  I don't know how he manages to make the hole, his personal window to the outside world, but he looks so darn funny with his head poking out. It will eventually become a doorway and he'll be out, looking for someone to play with. I cannot tell you how many times they have had to repair that fence.

As an indoor cat, I am sure looking out the windows, watching the birds and squirrels at the feeders or the occasional shadowy white figure of a possum in our backyard at night, is an important part of Minnow's day. She sits at a window when she's waiting for us to come home.  We can see her jumping down off the couch as the garage door goes up.  She is going to greet us as we come through the door.

Clovie has a nice low window in his room. Sometimes when I return home I can see him in the window looking out. I stop in the driveway, roll down my window and wave and tell him hello. Does he see me?

Everyone, man and beast, needs a window to the outside world.

I just happened to notice, mine really need to be cleaned...

Clovis 'n Carrots

What bunny does not like carrots?

I used to give Clovis some carrot and carrot greens every day but when he started having poop problems I cut back to just the carrot greens.

I try to have carrot greens in the fridge at all times. I usually shop Fred Meyer because they have the best bunny veges and you can get just about anything else you need from lightbulbs to underwear. Freddy's always has fresh organic carrots with the tops on.  A couple of times when I have shopped for carrots I have found the tops that someone has taken off and left. SCORE!

Lately I have been leaving a little of the carrot left on the tops. No surprise that's the first thing off the plate every morning.  One drawback to buying a bunch of carrots every week just for the greens - waaay more carrots than we can eat.

Clovie, don't poke yourself in the eye...

Away with Easter

The tulips are fading and I'm packing away
my Easter bunny treasures for another year.
(I've just about finished off this plate of candy
while pondering this post...)

Don't worry, Clovie. You're staying.

Easter Card

Clovie and I are wishing you and your "peeps" a Happy Easter!
