Couch Potato

So, the bonus room is Clovis' place to hang out when he is out bunning around. We have a couch up there and apparently this is now his new favorite spot.

The way we have the furniture arranged you can see the back of the couch from the doorway. When we first discovered his interest in the couch we'd try to sneak up on him to catch him on it because if he heard us coming he'd jump off in an instant. We could see the tips of his ears above the back of the couch, twitching, craning to hear us approach.  I'm pretty sure he thought being on the couch was a no-no.  We thought it was pretty funny.

One Saturday I was on the computer up there with him and he hopped up on the couch and over near where I was sitting. He was watching me, and I think, daring me to scold him for being naughtly.  So I played his little game and gave him a pretend scolding.

I gave him a real scolding though when I discovered he'd piddled on the couch - twice. Why must animals mark everything?  Well, now it's Clovie's couch.

Yep, that's exactly why Mickey is not allowed on our couch; the first time he hopped up on it, he peed on it. Fortunately, I was able to clean it up before much damage was done, but he's still not allowed there anymore.

Love that first pic, it looks like Clovie's sitting on the couch and watching TV. "Shhhhhhhhhh, be quiet! My shows are on!"

How come this cutie's not on bunspace?

So glad Shell posted this in her blog. Super cute!

Sue,

The portrait of Shell's bunny is absolutely beautiful! What a wonderful gift!

Clovie would not have pee'd on the couch if he knew it would make you sad. There isn't an ornery hair on that hare! :) It was just so comfy he relaxed and it just happened ...

Oh naughty boy! hee, hee, hee. I've never had a bunny pee on the furniture. Eat it, dig it, shred it to pure bits! Yes! Pee, not yet..knock on wood.

He did look like he was telling you to be quiet because his show was on. Too funny Jade!

xx, shell

The times ours have peed on furniture hasn't been marking, but because they just had to go. Now they aren't allowed where us humans sit without close supervision.

Thanks for visiting our blog and leaving such a nice comment too.

Fantastic picture, Clovie looks so at home, like he has lived on this couch "forever" !!!!

I wonder too, sometimes it seems that every time either or, 1/ someone falls asleep on the couch or 2/ leaves the room for a bit..... bun's get up to all sorts of mischief. Including hopping up on the couch (excuse the pun)! So adorable.

Hello! Clovie is adorable. Glad you're enjoying our holiday too :) I've got a friend with a bunny, Lotte, who mostly uses a litter tray but every so often still marks 'her' territory...the bed, the sofa!

Clovie wanted a couch - duh. Obviouly he has need for one. Now he has one.

Seems like a pretty smart bunny to me.

Get your own couch.

My bunnies also think they're not allowed on furniture!! Isn't that strange? Sometime I think they wouldn't pee on the furniture if they didn't think they weren't allowed, and the pee is out of spite for not being allowed. My bunnies will sit on the couch but not ever when we're on it.

Our living room couch is a huge "U" shape ... great for bunny 500s!!! No pee yet, though, thankfully! Lots and lots of hair though ...

The bunny requisitioning system: pee on it and it is mine.

It's an old couch so I really don't care if Clovie uses it. Since we also have a cat I wonder if Clovie was letting her know in his special way that the couch is his...

It seems to suit Clovie quite well. He looks very happy with himself! And, I do believe he was letting the cat know who is boss of the couch! I hope the cat respects that ... or you might be in for a territorial piddle battle...
